Happy Holidays 2008
Here are a few pictures from our visit to Mikes Farm to ride the hay ride and see the light show. We picked the coldest day possible for this but it was a lot of fun.

Topsail Beach 2008
This year we were just able to make it a long weekend and unfortunatly Robyn, Ryan and Maddox couldnt make it this time. The weather was nice enough. I would say that the fishing was bad but I am convinced that when Jeremy and I go fishing, the fish run and hide.
Just the girls.

Jules with the only catch of the weekend. I think he needs to teach his dad and uncle some tricks.
Mom don't talk with your mouth full.
Grumpy MaddieAnnas 4th Birthday
This year we had a small family party. The grandparents, cousins, Cam and Jeremy came over for a spaghetti dinner (Annas favorite).

Whirl wind Summer Vacation
1600 miles in 4 days and it seemed like the same black rain cloud followed us the entire way. All that aside, the girls did great and it was good to see our Alabama family. We had a great time at Alan and Debs swimming in the pool and eating Chef Uncle Alan's grilled creations, oh yea it rained a lot that night.
We all know that Grandaddy has done a lot of amazing things and been an inspiration to everyone but we did not know that he was such a talented grasshopper catcher (and squasher). After lunch and fun in the yard we took some pictures and piled back into the car for, you guessed it some more driving and yes it rained some more.
Three hours later we arrived in Panama City at the cabin. It had been 7yrs since my last visit and everyone has done such great work fixing it up. The kids really enjoyed playing on the porch and going in and out the front door over and over as if something new was going to be on the other side each time. I sat under the car port and said over and over "close the door!". Things don't change do they?
We did get some beach time in and although it rained most of the day on Saturday we made the best of it. We ate boiled peanuts, the kids watched movies and did crafts, then we took a trip down the beach road and let the kids get prizes at Alvin's Magic Mountain Mall. Later Uncle Jim and Aunt Joan came to visit with cousins Chris and Patrick.
It was topped off by a fireworks extravaganza but on by Uncle Jeremy with his assistants Ryan, Julian and myself. Sunday morning the sun came out and we got to swim and play on the beach for a while before we had to leave. It was great to get back down south for the first time with Briar and the kids.
Merry and Pete's house is beautiful and a great place to spend a summer morning. I enjoyed fishing in the pond at sunrise. The girls and Briar enjoyed having breakfast on the porch and taking a golf cart ride to see the horses.
Despite all of the fun we couldn't let the grass begin to grow under our feet. It was off to Greenville for a great lunch Grandmother prepared and some Jurassic grasshopper chasing the yard.
